ICL vs IPL ------ Cricket Loses

Guys , do you ever looked in to the competition between ICL and IPL . Ofcourse it benefits indian cricket but the Q is , up to what extent. When ICL started i thot that the phase of cricket is going to change in india, which is going to produce some more great cricketers to us. As time goes on my dreams are fading.

Now it become a prestige issue for BCCI , they started IPL . Bringing foreign players and bollywood bigshorts supporting .. MOney is flowing like anything . Running behing international players , does it rings any bells on your ears.

BCCI made indian cricket a business , being a private body (i have small dbt ) how can the control indian cricket. How can they cut the pension of our old cricketers. Just have a look in to english counties . How they plays, how they bringing up cricketers. Here nobody needs cricket to grow , only bank account to be grown.

Why dont BCCI put money on the domestic grounds , to improve the pitch , start a channel for domestic cricket broad cast. Atleat they increased the pay for domestic crickets due to attrition .

Now there comes ICC , IPL players can't play international cricket , pressure of BCCI . What we saw at down under. What we gonna miss Shane bond like great bolwers .

The loses are only to the game of Cricket neither BCCI nor ZEE .

KOLKATA NEWS and some thoughts---

HI All
This a real season for Malayalam movie buffs.Lots of Malayalam movies got released this month and all came in box with lot of expectations and of coz Kolkata News was among them.I was among those who was really waiting to a watch a Blessy Movie-Who never made me unhappy with his movies.Right from "Kaazcha" he had shown his talent and in Thanmaathra he shown us how can he handle and turn some of the toughest ideas in to Silver screen. But i was never the happiest watching "Palunk" and i thought he really wanted to make some sort of effort from his side to think differently and to come out of the shell,In Kolkata News he did it..Here Blessy was trying to portray some dark faces of a city ..A city who never sleeps,Dear Mumbaikars forgive me.:)
When i went to the cinemas i found all seats filled up and ofcoz was really happy to see families coming in,with lot of beautiful faces among them. This movie portrays life of an innocent gal, played by Meera Jasmin, her life and how she strugles with her life in city of joy and efforts of a Young Press reporter Ajith Thomas,Played by Dileep,a real good samaritan, how he strugles and changes her life.I always beleive dat Meera is a wonderful actor and she proved it again, and ofcoz a few times, i felt her, bit over acting but iam always ready to forgive her and she really is an asset to the Whole Malayalam show business.Dileep when compared to his last few movies has done well and, never tried to come out of that imaginary line drawn by the director. But the whole movie revolves around Meera's role and i felt after long time that Dileep shown bit of maturity in his acting.Camera work from
S Kumar has been a treat to watch as always, and after long time i heard some good "Malayaalithamulla" music but surprisingly from a Bong director Deb Jyothi, his tunes some time reminds you that of Salil Da...Songs are really sweet,Madhu and Chitra did the magic again.Chitra has been wondeful for years and may be set aside by some newcomers for a short span of time, but she is back with a bang and with a bong...You cant ignore real talents for a long time, they can always come out from their own shell.
Blessy through this movie tries to feature a social hazard which we frequently read in news papers, innocent gals getting married to guyz working abroad, parents not checking thir background and at the end poor gals gets cheated by their beloved husbands, and ofcoz their life after that...After "Vasthuhara" this movy will be the first to get in to the slums and galees of kolkota.Blessy and crew has been really suuccessful to showcase the rude face of kolkota, its sleeping beauty and a few times... you may hate the city of joy.If there are a few things which i hate in this movy ofcoz is the romance between MJ and Dileep, and some unwanted comedy sequences, may be to compromise a Dileep movie.I was not really happy the way which movie transitioned and reached the climax,
I loved Indrajiths role and in coming years,he will be the real guy to watch.I loved especially first half of the movie and in second half you will find lot of nosense scenes, some scenes related to black magic,Meera's sixth sense, situations which introduces Thampi Anthony etc.
When i came out of the cinemas i felt it as an OK movie,I dont think blessy justified his talent or on his selection of script,Some dialogues/sequences may make you in to tears,Dileep has miles to go as an actor but is promising and i would like to see Meera in some sort role in future where i will find her smiling:)
Movie gives us a message..?hmm..kind of yes..But very well shows the dark corners of kolkata, rude red streets and ofcoz Good always wins over evil..:).This Movie shows how Blessy and crew strugled to picturize the shots in the streets of kolkata and ...Hopefully Blessys next project will be an Action movie, and not Dileep but lalettan doing the lead role..:)

American Gangster, a fun watch

"That's a very, very nice suit," says Chiwetel Ejiofor, as Huey Lucas. His elder brother Frank repeats the line, adding a question mark at the end. Huey agrees, smug in his sharply-tailored togs, only to have big brother tick him off, hard: "That's a clown suit. That's a costume, with a big sign on it that says "Arrest me". You understand? You're too loud; you're making too much noise. Listen to me, the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room."
It is with this understated efficacy that Frank Lucas, played by Denzel Washington, has built up his position of strength. The real-life heroin kingpin believed in carefully cultivating a modest lifestyle, to keep doubts at bay. But what's a gangster's life without at least the occasional indulgence? So Lucas dons fur and goes to see Mohammed Ali box, hobnobbing showily with the rest of the gangsters.
The same night, Detective Richie Roberts is quick to spot that Lucas, a relative unknown, has better seats than the Italian mafia. Roberts, played by Russell Crowe, digs deeper into Lucas and finds himself a nemesis. And director Ridley Scott latches on, to give us an extremely compelling -- and factual -- cat-and-mouse tale.
Is it a great film? On paper, sure. It has every single ingredient for a classic gangster movie: terrific characters; a true story; tightly scripted lines; an interesting narrative. Yet American Gangster [ falls several notches short of greatness. It's a strong, well-made film, but while engaging, it's more than a trifle over-long and there is a tragic air of seen-that to the proceedings.
Denzel Washington has the script's finest role, that of Frank Lucas, a hardcore villain who doesn't believe in taking too many prisoners and does whatever it takes to get the job done. Washington does reliably well, handling the role deftly, with his characteristic style. Yet it isn't a performance that surprises us.
Crowe outshines Washington despite having the trickier role. His character, a cop jeered at by his peers for turning in a million dollars to the precinct instead of pocketing it, is a flawed, struggling character with the kind of professional morality cliches are made of. Crowe rises to the occasion and does very strongly, grounding the film in believability.
The supporting cast is very good indeed, notably Josh Brolin, Ejiofor, Armand Assante and Cuba Gooding Jr.
Thematically, it is a very interesting conflict: a gangster villain who works in a scrupulously ethical manner, contrasted opposite a staunchly idealistic cop who just happens to be a womaniser with a failed-marriage behind him. Scott does well and handles the story very efficiently, but there is always the feeling that he could have (should have) overreached. It's a fun watch, but it could have been more, Mr Director. My Rating: ***1/2

College kumaran- just OK!!

Malayalam dialogue writers these days do not know to write punch lines for superstar Mohanlal. As his characterisation gets repetitive and storylines thin, the lines that he mutters get all the more monotonous -- a far cry from his Mone Dinesha.
All that you hear him say in College Kumaran is "I Love You", that too after winning brownie points in an argument with the education minister of the state or grounding an adversary in a physical duel. What a disappointment!
The film directed by Thulasidhas has our hero in the role of a canteen manager with a valiant background of a Captain (in the military), who can also quote verbatim from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar!
He is the most trusted counsellor for the students and can control fighting mob and help a female student who is blackmailed into sex trade.
If we have to talk about the story, it is simple than what the kids learn in kindergarten. It has got everything that is plaguing education system; there is an attempted rape in the name of ragging, greedy capitalist making colleges into business opportunities, students killed in police custody, leaking of question papers etc. The only thing that may be missing is a full-fledged romance that is the staple of campus films. Though there is a heroine in the form ubiquitous Vimala who plays an English teacher, her relationship with the hero is confrontational in the beginning then turning into admiration as she learns about his past.
The film is a typical Mohanlal fare where he has to fight bad guys in the rain, dance with students, also with the heroine (though in a dream sequence), and lecture the teachers and parents on how to be good in their respective capacities and fight for the right cause. The writer director duo of Suresh Poduval and Thulasidhas make it at least bearable by not going overboard in their hero worship. One only feels that they had made the character little more realistic and distinct.
Mohanlal is easy going but one does not know whether he enjoys doing such repetitive stuff. The others in the cast include Nedumudi Venu, Janardhanan, etc.
In a nutshell, College Kumaran is just an average fare

CLASSMATES..!!

CLASSMATES..
-----------------------

When i went to home for the diwali vacation.., i never thought i will go for a movie.., Coz, i am visiting home only 3 times in a year.., and so i never wanted to waste that golden times in confined ,dark theatre to experience something which we can see from anywhere in the world.,

i am sure hat this movie will hit the mumbai theatres soon, and so wanted to catch it from there and not my hometown.

But when one of my friends,Sooraj called me up for a meeting, i agreed to go for for one movie but thought only "movie over a meeting" and never had any special selection.

And from payyanur, we moved to 'Archana' theatre where it was screened. with packet of snacks to fill the empty stomach , and lots of things in mind to share with him during the movie.

but any way the Movie was a fantastic experience , so that after about half an hour from starting, i forgot about the presence of my friend and fully involved in the movie.

on the whole it was wonderful, fabulous movie worthwatching.

The direction and script was perfect so that not any moment during the 3 hours was boring.

Join for greener,neater KERALA

KERALA
It is my home land..,
the land of greenery and the land of kathakali.., the land of firstly elected communist goverment.. It is on a way to slow and steady growth of social and economical self sustainance..
All the people have modern(read capitalist influence in the old socialism)outlook in their life.
venthough the land was lushgreen, now it is on a verge of extinction due to great demographic explosion which caused more requirements for residential plots .All of them want to own a separate home instead of the 'flat' culture which prevails in the other cities of india .
So kerala is slowly convering into a big big metro where there is no green forests to clean the air and water.
Thanks,
Arunkumar
